Rosa Damascena Essential Oil January 06 2023

The queen of flowers, as many call it, roses secrete one of the most exquisite aromatic oils known to humanity. For centuries ancient cultures and their rulers have worshiped this flower and used them in grand celebrations and various rituals. The ancient Egyptians considered roses a powerful symbol of love and beauty. They boiled the flowers into an oily residue, which they used in their beauty-enhancing rituals. Once used abundantly by Cleopatra today, this magnificent flower is cultivated only in a few places on our planet that offer the right growing conditions - Bulgaria, Turkey, Morocco, and Egypt. There are two rose species used in modern skincare, perfumery, and aromatherapy: Rose Damask (Rosa Damascena) and Rose de Mai (Rosa Centifolia). The former has a deep, potent scent, while the latter has a lighter, clean and sweet aroma.

The Rose Valley in Bulgaria, where we source our rose oil, offers the perfect terroir conditions. With its 275 active compounds, including skin-nourishing vitamins, minerals, and protective antioxidants, our Bulgarian rose oil provides us with remarkable benefits for the body, mind, and soul.
